Turkey's First Wind Energy Online Education Platform Launched in İzmir

Founded with the intention to satisfy the demand for employment and qualified staff, the online wind energy education program WindBaba has started its trainings. XGEN co-founder and WindBaba trainer İskender Kökey says: "Turkey's momentum of investments in wind energy equipment brought forth the need for qualified staff and vocational training. WindBaba which is Turkey's first wind energy education program went online in order to respond to this demand in the sector." ​

WindBaba, founded to respond to the demand in employment and qualified staff in the wind energy sector, seeks to satisfy the demand in every level of professions. In online trainings, the attendees will be taught on the following topics;  “ Outlook to Global Energy and Wind Energy”, “Wind Turbine”, “Onshore and Offshore Tower Manufacturing”, Wind Measurement”, “Wind Turbine Maintenance and Service', “Wind Turbine Technologies”, “Project Management”, “Energy Analysis”, “Lender's Engineering”, “Technical Evaluation and Reporting” and “Wind Energy Finance”​

Courses will be conducted by the professionals who served the sector for many years and the trainees will have the chance to have a demo class before they start the program. After the education program ends, each trainee will receive a certificate Yaşar University Continuing Education Center(YÜSEM) and if they succeed the online exam of WindBaba with 60 points they will receive a Yaşar University approved 'Certificate of Achievement'. ​

XGEN Cofounder and Windbaba trainer İskender Kökey, made a statement to AA(Anadolu Agency) reporter saying: ‘Turkey's leap in the last 14 years in the wind energy sector, increased the installed power from 51MW to 8058MW (as of the end of 2019), which is about 158 times.’​

Pointing that Turkey being the 7th country in Europe in the renewable energy sector, Kökey states that:​

‘Turkey's momentum of investments in wind energy equipment brought forth the need for qualified staff and vocational training. Windbaba which is Turkey's first wind energy education program went online in order to respond to this demand in the sector. We also aim to hold networking meetings in order to gather all the professionals in the sector. I believe that Windbaba will offer the chance to the trainees to shape the future of the wind energy sector by giving the idea of the Wind Energy sector and also the professionals who plan to switch to the Wind Energy sector. With the extra courses, WindBaba will fill one of the most important gaps in the wind energy sector.’​
