Established as an enterprise with 100 partners in 1992, the first department store of Kipa, Bornova Kipa started to operate in 1994. Becoming the star of Aegean in a short time, in 2003 the establishment built partnership with Tesco, one of the most prominent retail chains in the world and thus rapidly increased the number of its stores all over Turkey. Tesco is the most leading retailer in the United Kingdom. With 4331 department stores and more than 470.000 employees throughout the world, it is also one of the top three retailer in the world. Besides in the UK, Tesco operates in 13 different countries, which are namely USA, China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand and India in Asia, Ireland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Turkey in Europe.
