STATE OF THE SECTOR IN TURKEY AND IN THE WORLD
Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning/Cooling Sector in the World Given the practices across the world, it is seen that Industrial Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Cooling Devices sector falls under the general definition of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning/Cooling and, industrial devices are not considered a separate subgroup.
It is foreseen that the total demand for the Industrial Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Cooling Devices sector in the world will grow at 6.2% each year by 2014 and, 40% of the growth will be of Chinese origin. In the next years, the United States-based demand is foreseen to be at 8.1% on average per year even though it will initially be at lower levels. It is also to be expected that cooling devices will get ahead of the heating devices in the world. .
While the total world export of the sector in 2008 totaled 148.391 million USD, given the world trade statistics in terms of countries, it is seen that the top exporting countries are China, Germany, Italy, USA and Japan .

Sectoral Organizations in Turkey
Given the civil initiative in the sector, it is seen that the first trade body is İzmir based Association of Aegean Cooling Industrialist and Businessmen (ESSİAD) founded in 1990. Information regarding Sectoral nongovernmental organizations is provided below.
 esiad_logo  ESSİAD
Association of Aegean Cooling Industrialist and Businessmen (ESSİAD) founded in 1990 aims to improve the sector and provide the consumer with advanced, high quality products by carrying out works that increase the production, foreign trade and R&D capacities of the businesses operating in the cooling sector along with the staff and machinery manufacturers. ESSİAD, the oldest İzmir-based association in the sector, publishes the magazine Soğutma Dünyası (World of Air Conditioning) which has academic arbiters and also organizes sectoral meetings, conferences, congresses, and trainings. Furthermore, it also carries out important activities with regards to the launching of the manufacturers by attending national and international sectoral fairs. The association has around 100 members.
 iskid_logo  İSKİD
İSKİD (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Manufacturers’ Association) founded in 1993, aims to ensure cooperation, solidarity and information exchange among its members working in the fields of air conditioning and refrigeration devices manufacture and agency; take steps to resolve the members’ problems related with fiscal, legal, administrative, technological, manufacture, export and import issues; take measures against the unfair competition in the sector and practices that could harm Turkey; protect the rights of air conditioning consumers and companies both on national and international level; improve the air conditioning, refrigeration and air condition market in Turkey and to carry it to the highest level by also taking the environment into account. With these aims in mind, the association has carried out organizations in various fields mainly including organization of the fairs such as ISK-SODEKS, cooperation with international associations and institutions, and training projects intending to raise qualified staff.
