İZKA Tours Japan to Promote the Investment Opportunities in İzmir 14 June 2017
İzmir Development Agency (İZKA) and Aegean Free Zone (ESBAŞ) organized an investment promotion tour in Tokyo and Kyoto in cooperation with United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO ITPO Tokyo) and Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME). İZKA and ESBAŞ was selected the best regional investment promotion institutions by the Site Selection Magazine in Eastern Europe in May 2017.
During the tour, global firms operating in the Renewable Energy and IT sectors with the potential to invest in İzmir were visited and the investment environment in İzmir, as well as the investment opportunities the city offers to the investors were introduced within the scope of the investment promotion strategy of İZKA.
In addition to the bilateral interviews with the tour, a seminar about the investment opportunities in İzmir was organized in Tokyo in cooperation of İZKA, UNIDO and JCCME. UNIDO Tokyo Director Ferda Gelegen and Tokyo Embassy of the Republic of Turkey Commercial Counselor Mete Özbalaban gave the opening speeches while İZKA Investment Support Office Expert H. Gökhan Elüstün, ESBAŞ Marketing and Leasing Manager Göktürk Altınbaş, Yanmar Holding Turkey Representative M. Kemal Erdoğan, JCCME Director Akio Nakanishi and JETRO İstanbul President Yasuyiki Murahashi also gave speeches.
İzmir, its investment opportunities, government incentives, tax benefits of the free zone were introduced and Turkish - Japanese economic and cultural relations were discussed during the seminar in which about 100 Japanese company representatives participated.
