Krone Invests in Izmir Tire Organized Industrial Zone |
| New trailer factory of the German company will be built in the Tire Organized Industrial Zone (TOSBI). Krone, the second biggest producer of trailer in Europe, and its Turkish partner Dogus decided to build their new factory in the Tire Organized Industrial Zone. The negotiations between Krone-Dogus and TOSBI Management are moving towards the end. The final decision will be made on Tuesday after the site visit. |

China will Invest in Izmir |
| The study, initiated last year by Republic of China, aiming to guide the Chinese investors and revealing the "70 cities and 40 investment zones which are best for making investment", has placed İzmir in the list of "the cities of future". Meanwhile, The Agean Free Zone (ESBAŞ) held a place among the best 40 industry zones. |

Korea's Biggest Cigarette Company Chose to Invest in Izmir |
| KT&G Corp., South Korea's largest tobacco and ginseng company, has made a move into the Turkish tobacco market, and begun construction on a production plant in Tire Organized Industrial Zone. The expected production start is in March 2008, with a production capacity of two billion cigarettes a year. This represents an investment of KRW50bn (US$52.9mn), and is the company's first investment in the region. |
